Happy Holidays!  -  @ 09:15:05
Hi everyone! Just a quick little blog this morning. I just finished my new Christmas ornaments, so take a peek, they’re on the products page. I think they look pretty good! So, now I am taking some down time to get ready for Thanksgiving and plan my next project. I am working on some Christmas cross stitch ornaments, but I have to say they take longer than quilts do. But, hopefully I will have them up. If not, I guess next year. Been having a pretty good week so far, my website is getting record number of hits this month, over 6000! That’s good in the website biz. Other than that, just been working on projects and trying to keep a lid on the housework around here. Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving!

Sewing things  -  @ 17:40:37
Well, I have been hard at work for the Christmas season, and since I have been so busy all my work sent me to the quilting stores this weekend! I have to say that I still can’t resist buying patterns from some of my favorite designers, mainly all the Art to Heart stuff. That gal has some talent! But the best thing is that I get all sorts of ideas, and I get to browse through the new fabrics. You can never have enough fabric in your stash! If any of you do any of your own designing, you know how important it is too have a large stash to choose from. Well, I enlarged my pile this weekend! And it’s always so much fun. Other than that, it has been fairly quiet around the Treece house, and with 2 teenagers that’s just the way I like it!

Happy sewing!

Elections and other stuff  -  @ 13:55:44
Well, I was going to type this earlier today when the electoral votes were 254 to 252, but about 15 minutes later Kerry conceded to Ohio. Had to stop and do some serious thinking and meditating on that. Personally I would have been happy to have gone to bed last night with the Presidency already called, but you know how it goes...
Anyway, enough of that!
Today I started work on some quilted Christmas ornaments that will be very easy to make, and will be perfect for gifts. Hope to have them up sometime next week.
Had to take a break for the last couple of weeks to brainstorm on new designs and get out the Halloween stuff for the house. Now that Halloween is over and I’ve taken down the decorations it’s time to turn my thoughts to Thanksgiving and Christmas! As you all know,(or I hope you do), I am a nurse, so getting holidays off is pretty hard! This year though I will be home with my family making turkey and all that trimming stuff. I am really excited about that.
This last week I went to my city’s small business luncheon for the first time, (since I just started!), and got to see how other businesses in my area work. It was really kinda neat. Usually I wouldn’t do this, but I thought to myself, “Get out there and work it!” And I did. It is very hard to start a business these days, and being able to go out and hand out business cards to everyone was something I needed to do. Now all I need is to really get the website out there!
Anyway, now you know what’s been on my mind!

Hi!  -  @ 08:21:55
Well, it’s been a few days, but I’m back! Just finished a new cross stitch set, a towel and trivet with grapes on them. They’re available on my website now, if anyone wants to look. Now comes the difficult part of my job, starting something new! It’s not as easy as you would think. Good thing I have a lot of ideas! It’s time to start planning Christmas things, and I have been wondering if I will be doing any sewing for Christmas besides what I am designing for the website! I usually make at least one gift for everyone in my family, but maybe this year that will have to wait. Just have to see what happens!
Anyway, it is cool but sunny out today, the mountains still have snow on them, and I am hoping that skiing will be really good this year...

First blog ever!  -  @ 16:21:54
So, this is the first time I have ever written a blog in my life! We’ll see how it goes here. First of all I want to thank everyone who has visited my site. I’m pretty proud of it! It took about 4 months for everything you see here to get going, but it was worth the hassle and the wait. Oh, before I forget, I want to thank my dad, Jim Bruce of Rist Canyon Vineyards for helping me with this who website thing and for his continuing administration of the site. THANKS DAD! We have a little understanding; I won’t mess with the site if I can help it, and he’ll keep it running. And I should probably hand out a thanks to my husband and children for putting up with me, especially when things weren’t working right.
Now for the stuff I need to get off my chest. Designing quilt and cross-stitch patterns is not as easy as it seems! I have a lot of ideas...so many that I don’t know what to do first! And so many that it seems I will never get them all done. Well, I am a little hasty....I like to get things done, and get them done now, (as my dad could surely tell you), and sometimes I think I have spent too much time on one project. Like, right away I should just have pages of patterns to sell. I know that’s terribly unrealistic, but it seems like I have so little up. But don’t worry, there’s more to come! (I know that for sure because my head is bursting with ideas!)
Anyway, it’s fall here in Colorado, and it sure is pretty. 60-70 degree days, a chill in the night air, leaves are turning red and gold, and the mountains already have snow on them. It’s one of my favorite times of the year! At my house we have a fairly large garden, and call me old fashioned, but I have learned how to can in the last couple of years, so this year I canned dill pickles and hamburger chips, tomatoes for spaghetti sauce, and I even made jelly, both orange marmalade and strawberry jelly. The jellies were new this year, and the marmalade set perfectly on its own, but the strawberry isn’t quite as set, but still good! Now we’re just waiting for the squash and pumpkins to be done. And potatoes. And the rest of the tomatoes. And the kale, spinach, and fall lettuce. And the peppers......I think that’s it!
So, now you know a little about me and what’s going on. I’ll try to be good and post every day. I’m sure I’ll have a lot to say.
